Our Story
Two people. A shared passion. A microphone. That's how Beyond The Toolbox began.
Lesego Moanakwena and Rosina Matapa had both spent years in and around the automotive industry. They kept having the same conversation: the people doing the real work — the ones with grease under their fingernails and decades of hard-won knowledge — had no platform. No podcast. No publication. Nothing that spoke to them in their language.
So we built one. We started recording conversations with mechanics, workshop owners, panel beaters, auto electricians, and industry veterans. We asked them about their careers, their struggles, their wins. We asked them what they wished someone had told them when they were starting out.
The response was immediate. People were hungry for it. Turns out, when you give the trade a microphone, it has a lot to say.
